She will look at how agility, flexibility, and openness can help us get a certain sense of control and thereby cope with that uncertainty. To follow Arianna we will have Andy Davies who will give those of you that did not attend the recent SmashingConf to hear his talk “A/B Testing, Ads and other 3rd Party Tags” where will will take another look at one of our favourite web performance subjects.

Then we have Simon Hearne with his talk “Third-party content: the weak link in the chain” where he’ll explores some of the toughest questions in web performance, backed up with huge amounts of data.

Christmas 2017 Lightning Talks & Quiz

As usual our end of year meetup will be raising funds for BBC Children in Need and Crisis at Christmas. All ticket net revenue from the event will be donated plus we’ll try and round that up from group funds. Please give as generously as you can.
In terms of content there will be a collection of lighnting talks on subjects ranging from AI to Retro Computing with a few web perf ones thrown in for good measure, followed by our now infamous quiz with some tasty prizes – that’s right, the prize will be whatever pizza is left over at the end of the evening.
